I remember Gershon sipping beer in Grossman's Tavern on Spadina Avenue in Toronto which was in close proximity to his studio. A brilliant and underated artist, he could inspire and engage. After horendous trials, he expressed optimism in his work, for which he was criticized. How shortsighted people are . . . I'll remember him as a gentle and wise man whose smile was full of brilliance and love . . . generous too, sharing his views and patient, willing to share gems with half witted young and impressionable people like me. Thank you Gershon!

Wonderful review. I appreciate your deep emotional connection to the art and the artist. I have always found this period in our history an extreme example of humanity, good and evil. I never considered the artist, this review changed that. Thank you.
