Married artists exhibiting at the same time is as unusual as an artist marrying another artist. Less so now than in early days of Bill and Elaine DeKoonings, Krasner/Pollock as since the 70's we have had Richard Serra married to Nancy Graves, Rudolf Baranik and May Stevens, Leon Golob and Nancy Spero, Susan Rothenberg and Nauman and more recently Joel Shapiro and Eric Fischel and Rachel Feinstein and others have married artists.

About a year ago the coincidence of married artists having shows at the same time occured to me too, when Joan Vennum exhibited her paintings at Sundaram Tagore Gallery in Chelsea while her husband, Ted Kurahara's paintings were at Walter Randel gallery, also in Chelsea, with exhibit dates overlapping.
Jonathan Goodman wrote the catalog essay for Vennum and Kurahara's show was reviewed by Mario Naves and Jon Goodman for Art in America.
