Hi Becca,
I was fascinated by your story of growing up in upstate NY. So much like mine was growing up in Sullivan county, during my early summers.
I was later enchanted by your father's work after I met you through a friend in Tarrytown years ago. So much so, that I decided to begin a career in metal. I dreamed of creating work like David Smith. Ha-ha. Nevertheless, I worked as a goldsmith for over 25 years at places such as Cartier, Tiffany's, Van Cleef& Arpels. I don't think you remember me. I don't recall our mutual friend. Yet, I thought you might find it interesting how people's lives are changed by encounters that we're at most times totally unaware. I'm sure his work touched many others in similar ways. I'm sure yours does as well. Thanks.

Many thanks for bringing another layer to the life of David Smith. His work inspired me to begin working in 3-d, after many years of painting. I will now add cherry cobbler to my repertoire.
