With a BA from Columbia, Sophie, who lives in Harlem, has taken part in group exhibitions since 2011, most recently at Trestle Projects, Brooklyn, where she is currently an artist in residence. A frequent contributor to Artforum, The Brooklyn Rail, and other publications, Kovel also served last fall as a research assistant at the Museum of Modern Art where she worked on the 2019 garden re-installation and the Spring 2020 Donald Judd retrospective.
