The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts launches its annual Open Studios Thursday and Friday evenings and during the day Saturday.   A reception Thursday night from 6:00pm to 10:00pm honors the 76 artists who maintain studios at their six-story Midtown premises, among them Gary Petersen, pictured above.  The EFA was founded in 1992 with seed money from arts patron Elizabeth Stanley and has been involved with a broad variety of direct grant and studio programs ever since.  This weekend’s event also provides an opportunity to savor works from members of the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Worship, now headquartered there.  In 2003 the legendary workshop, founded in 1948, was willed to the EFA by Blackburn.
